Stories From the Practice of Health Care
Practicing are recorded conversations with a colleague that are shared with the organization. They are conversations between real team members about why the work matters.

Why We Practice

“Work is about the search 'for daily meaning as well as daily bread, for recognition as well as cash, for astonishment rather than torpor; in short, for a sort of life rather than a Monday through Friday sort of dying.'”

Health care feels increasingly chaotic to all who work here — more to do and less time to do it, higher expectations to deliver outcomes and connect with patients while doing it all more efficiently.

Real teams are the antidote to the chaos of modern medicine. “Real teams know each other, feel loyalty to one another, trust one another, and would not want to disappoint one another.” Our goal is to preserve and share the stories of the teams at University of Utah Health.
